WAYFARER ZINE
CONCEPT DESIGN + BRANDING
ALL COPYRIGHTS RESERVED WITH NANDITA SHARMA
Wayfarer is a concept idea for a travel + art zine.
We begin with simple typography for the title. I wanted to give it a bold, clean look that didn't feel 'heavy.' Hence, the choice of whyte inktrap as the title font.

Then came the logo. I had a very specific style in mind, I knew I wanted to give it a vintage feel that was representative of movement (for the travel aspect) and had an artistic feel to it. Hence, bugs. Bugs have long been art & media muses (See: Poster art for films like Silence of the Lambs, origin story for every third comic-book superhero, paintings by Salvador Dali and more) but bugs also represent a very integral part of the concept for Wayfarer, which is, travel. They are always moving, their lives are defined by constant motion and Wayfarer was designed to showcase movement as a haulier of endless possibility.
The logo is meant to represent that within the world of wayfarer (the capital W.) a stream of art & movement are contained for your consumption.

Here are a few visuals of the Wayfarer as an actualized concept. The illustrations and images in the design (apart from a few images in the logo) used were all made and captured by me.
1. Front and Back Covers + Spine in one visual

2. Inside look and feel + logo and technical placements in synchrony with the zine's content

3. A closer look at the front cover in its actualized form
