Wise Up is a gaming app designed specifically to stimulate cognitive health. It includes games like Sudoku, Chess, Jigsaws, etc. that are known to promote brain activity. It's like a gym for your brain!
Problem
Studies show that our brain starts slowing down in our mid-20s. This means that we constantly require cognitive motivation to boost our cognitive health. Wise Up was created with the mindset of delivering a user experience that is accessible and engaging for its audience as it delivers to them the said experience.
Our Approach and Findings
While creating Wise Up, we focused on visuals for an accessible, simplistic yet fun interface. As the designer on the team, my role was to create app properties (icons, buttons, etc.). I also assisted with Wireframes and App Screens.
While doing User Research, we realised that our target audience - an age demographic of above 45 years of age - wasn't too focused on the aesthetics but the functionality of the app.
Keeping that in mind, we created screens that had bold buttons and icons for easy access.
